My first Twin Cities Book Festival
I'm a little late in writing this blog. I had a booth at my first Twin Cities Book Festival on Saturday, October 15th, 2016. What an event! Setting up my booth was fun. Having my friends with me to help greet people was even more fun!! The event was huge! So many booths, so many people, so much networking to be done! I had great "neighbors" that were a blast to talk to when things would get slow. But those slow times didn't last long. I was busy enough that I hardly had time to take a bathroom break! I haven't stood on my feet that long since my days of working retail when I was in my twenties. It was fun to meet other authors and hear about their writing process and what they had planned for their futures. I book-swapped with a couple of those authors. Otherwise, I sold more books than I expected. It was a long day standing on my feet from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. But all worth it. The only small complaint would be it was very hot in the building. We were in the Arts building at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. "Not temperature controlled" I think it said in the literature. No kidding! Next time I'll bring a portable, battery-powered fan. Thank you to Rain Taxi and the Twin Cities Book Festival for putting on such a wonderful event! I'll be back!!
